Paint Match... or help figuring a mix?
« on: February 07, 2013, 06:48:49 PM »
Okay ponies who are amazing artists and customizers...

I need some assistance.

I am desperately trying to find or mix paint to match the DH hair color "Water Nixie" - aka the mane color that Majesty, Sprinkles, and a whole slew of others have...

Anyway... I just am not getting it right. I can't figure out what colors to mix. I use Folk Art paint, but just bought like... the blue they had, and white, and some yellow. I'm thinking I might need actual Teal paint to mix? Does anyone know if there's a way to kind of... break down the colors and match them to something?

Any assistance would be appreciated. Been going around in circles adding green, yellow, white, blue, etc etc etc - just need a "flat" Water Nixie color Meh!!

The best thing to do is if you have a program like Photo shop where you can bring up a shot of the color you want and then try matching pantone colors to it.  I would also suggest trying tube acrylic they are more true and mix better and cleaner then "craft" types in my experience.
