Lost MY ever living mind!
« on: February 02, 2013, 08:50:51 AM »
So, this Blythe I'm working on has been an adventure in "what can I do this week?"

I managed to get my grubby hands on a resin kit and I'm working on custom eye chips. Okay really the kit was easy, yay for Hobby Lobby. But this is still an adventure darn it!

Quite possibly lost my mind... by Vertefae, on Flickr

Ignore the drops outside the molds, going to use the extra for something...something... yeah that's it! OR maybe it was just to pretty to waste :)

You know me, I can't just do it the easy way and buy something made. :)

Resin can be very messy and sticky, if your not use to working with it. I found this out the hard way xp I'm not sure what your trying to make, as I'm not familiar with what an eye chip is?

Eyechips are used in Blythe and pullip dolls.

Eye chips are the colored iris part of the white eye ball in Blythe dolls. They can be replaced with different colored eye chips to change eye color without destroying the eye mechanism.  ^.^

^.^ The glittery drops are too pretty to waste LOL
I like the sprinkles in the eye chips, Vertefae. Very sweet lolita style. You could try broken pocket watch gears and cogs for a Steampunk theme too.

That's a great plan! These are a little icky to use. I think I'm going to try tracing a chip and do the drop method next. I also ordered some Japanese mold making stuff to try.

Lots of sanding. I'll be casting thinner ones I think
