Seriously? What is up with the USPS?

I am in a little private swap.  Shipped my package out nine days ago.  I did a tracking on it and can you believe its not even left the states yet?  First class package and its still resting in New York 9 days later.  No wonder packages that are international are not getting where they are supposed to go very quickly.  That is just plain ridiculous.  If it has to go through say 2-3 more countries at 9 days each thats 18-27 more days one would have to wait.

Your not alone, I was waiting on a international package and its taking a while to get here to. They raise the prices and slow down on there shipping.........

Tula, what exactly did the tracking update say?  Because the package probably did leave the States but it won't necessarily update again until it clears customs in the destination country.

Your item was processed through our ISC NEW YORK NY(USPS) facility on January 31, 2013 at 7:38 am. The item is currently in transit to the destination.




As you can see it was processed today and now its in transit, but that is still ridiculous for it to take 9 days to get from Texas to New York and just now leaving the country.

It sounds to me it was held up in customs. I have had it happen quite a few times so it's not unusual.

But from your last update it seems it is on it's way.

The midwest has also been having some pretty bad weather lately, including those storms yesterday that moved from the midwest to the east coast (I have the three inches of snow I swept off my car this morning to prove it!). Certainly not defending a nine-day delay to the east coast, but that could be a factor.

I understand where you are coming from.  The shipping time seems to take longer now.

I second the customs theory.  While it is frustrating, don't worry as it is common.

And also the weather around this area has been terrible! We've been hit with some snow so that slows things down a bit too.
