Rescue from Midnight Castle

Thanks for pointing me at this, I just watched the Rescue from Midnight Castle and it recalled some memories from my childhood ^^ The cartoon survived the test of time. Actually it is better, than i remembered it to be, and especially if you compare it to other '80s cartoons, it's quite good. Oh, and the sea ponies... this was so random

I love escape from midnight castle. I have all the episodes on DVD, and I let my daughters watch it. They love the sea ponies and the run around singing shoopedoo. They also love ghost of paradise estate.

LOL you want something similar to moochik's (how do you spell his name?) house check out the smurf houses. They are awesome! Not so much the playsets I'd like to see but the actual villians made into (poseable) characters..

I would have loved some kind of Flutter Valley set - it would have had to have been on the scale of the Paradise Estate in size but that would have been amazing!

It's the first television special. THE VERY FIRST.
It is very good. The villain is awesome and the animation style is in many people's opinion, better than the rest of the G1 series.

I love the episode called Somnambula with Big Brother ponies. And Escape from Catrina!

I recommend: Escape from Catrina, The End of Flutter Valley, The Magic Horse Shoes, Quest of the Princess Ponies and the My Little Pony Movie.

All of these give background info to the some of the most popular G1 characters which is pretty fun to have when you are collecting them.  It gives them more personality.  I think Midnight Castle is the best one, but these are pretty good also.

I LOVE Rescue At Midnight Castle!!!   

I still remember getting up early one weekend morning when I was a child and catching it on TV and being blown away by how action packed and epic it was!

I love the real sense of threat and danger, and the great characterisation of Tyrac as a really threatening villain. I could actually imagine it scaring young children!

It was easily as good as "boy's" shows at the time like He-Man or Dungeons and Dragons and it really made me want My Little Ponies...  Convincing my Mother to buy them for me was a different story...
