Picked up some more today, so I think I'm done. However I'm planning on heading out to a large Asian market next weekend so I might pick up some stickers there too. So while I'm prolly done, I still plan on throwing more in there anyway next week.

Hey Tiki (and fellow swap buddies) , this is my fish Jadie.  She loves ponies as you can see. I put a new one out for her to visit every day.  She is a female. I fell in love with her over the males in the store.  I don't know why. I know she isn't as fancy, but she has such personality.  She loves the dog too.  The cat visits her every day and she swims where he is and stays close to him.  She just so much fun.  I did everything you suggested. I have a heater and a 2 gallon or 2.5 gallon tank.  It has a green lid.  We are really having fun with her.

  She is lovely and is very lucky to get such a nice home WITH a heater 
She looks to be still fairly young too. As she gets older, those black stripes (called stress stripes) will go away and her fins should open up more  - its most likely caused by poor water quality from being in the cup in the store. I picked up a new girl on Thrusday too  and named her fluttershy since she is yellow. She is also pretty young and still has those stress stripes (which is common in babies/juvies but means something is stressing them out if they should up when they are adults).

This link provides some basic betta care info (I would ignore anythign about getting stuff to test the water and filters/cycling, unless you plan on upgrading to a bigger tank)

i have a few tanks like that too - I think the large ones are 2.5-3 gallons which is a nice home for them.

Kinda like the arena but for bettas, its actually a sub forum on its parent site tropicalfishkeeping.com (but I seldom visit that side since I dont have other species). You will find all sorts of helpful info and there is a cheat thread in the lounge section called coffeehouse chat - which is basically a bunch of randomness. Its pretty awsome

Yes tiki I had already visited that site.  It really helped me.  I was surprised though how expensive setting it up would be.  I just love her though.  I think I had a beta as a child but it did not live past three days.  I have always loved goldfish.  This is a fun adventure.  Now I need to find some beta stickers roflol.

I found that site while trying to figure out why I would get a healthy fish and it would be dead 24 hours later. I didn't know about the need for water conditioner  and near as I can tell, they were dying from some kind of poisioning

I found my first tank (one of those 5 gallon aqueon bow front tanks) at value village for like $11  But sadly I killed him because the idiot at petco told me if I had a filter, I never needed to change the water

they are surprise erasers, i bought some for myself and thought they were so cute i would get some for my partner as a cheap extra.
I got the music and cookie one in my pack, I thought they were adorable, even though I dont usually collect blindbag eraser things hopefully my partner likes whatever two they get xD
