She changes color. If you warm her up she'll turn all white.

The only thing I can say is either try turning her all pink and then back to white again, or some girl did it part way and you're not supposed to do it part way and she's stuck like that

I'm thinking she turned totally white at first but it seems now she won't even with the hottest water.
Here's mine before

Sometimes they do get stuck and as far as I've seen there is no way guaranteed to fix it. Some have had success with boiling water then icy water and repeat to shock it but for many even that hasn't worked.

Acetone will take off the colour change layer but it does take a lot of work (it took me hours and even then I still found little bits in between the wings) and it'll also take off the paint under it.
It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a woman in possession of disposable income, must be in want of a pony.

Well that's a design fail.  Hmmmm... can you paint over the color change layer?  The life span of the leuco dyes used to effect the color change is reduced by exposure to UV light and temperatures above 200oF.  Maybe what has happened is that the pony was left in the back of a car or by a window and the part that is perma-pink is that which was exposed to the direct sunlight (sunlight focused by glass can get super hot!).  So it's possible that making the pony hot turns it white, but making it too hot destroys the dye and results in permanent pink color.  It maybe that by heating the pony up to 230oF you can turn the entire pony Pink.  If you had a UV lamp you could try that too, but I am betting heat is easier than UV light.  Maybe if you disrupt the leuco dye in this way you can at least achieve a uniform, permanent color. Man, now I want to get one of these and leave it under my UV light at the lab for two days to see what happens  :nerdy:

Yes unfortunately the colour can become stuck when the thermal properties of the coating essentially "run out" and break down. Therefore its not a stain its just that some of the coating has frozen in that shade. I have no clue

There are only a couple of options - trying to force it to white or removing the colour changing coating. To try and force the colour you need to soak her in super super hot water in order to try and reenergise the remaining thermal coating if possible. If this works - and unfortunately its far from a guarantee - she will go white and then you also need to be careful she doesnt get too cold as it could revert her quickly back.

Alternatively you can remove the thermal coating - but its pretty tough to do so - you need a lot of determination, elbow grease and acetone. You will also have to be careful around the symbols as this will remove this paint as well.

Good luck!
