How is your eyesight?

Need an option for "My vision isn't perfect, but it's not too bad, so, I maybe SHOULD wear glasses but I don't", lol cause that's me!

     Same here, my eyes serve me without fail, but when the DMV wants me to perfectly recite an eye chart from 20 feet away I"m just like, "What is this? What are you trying to prove!?".

     Then they won't renew your license without a doctor's note, like, "We know you've never been in an accident, but you're legally blind if you can't read small print from a great distance.".

     Then there are the people who nag you to never squint because you'll ruin your eyes, but that's just what I do, like Clint Eastwood. Even the DMV people giving me the eye test were like, "Oops! You're squinting!", like I"m cheating, like I"m Lance Eyestrong.

And yet I work in a quality control room inspecting unassembled circuit boards 

which go in air planes 

But I have really strong glasses and actually quite a good eye for detail, its distances which get me

I hated glasses since I got them in 3rd grade and wasn't very good about cleaning my contacts since I started wearing them in high school.  I was 30 in 2004 decided to do the lasix surgery.  Very happy with the results.  I would recommend it, research it and find a good eye care place to have it done and decide if it is right for you.  Never hurts to check things out even if you're just curious.

I wear contacts, and glasses occasionally.  I cannot do much at all without corrective lens, I'm short sighted and -4 prescription.

I am extremely nearsighted and have astigmatism. I've been wearing glasses since the 3rd grade. Because of the astigmatism would make me have to wear expensive contacts I've never had any.
Without my glasses I have to hold something about 2 inches from my face to see it clearly.

I have great vision but no depth perception. It only really bothers me at night and I can't judge distances without things around me. Yes, that means I SUCK at sports LOL

I wear one contact.  I have strabismus...amblyopia..."lazy eye" (whatever you want to call it).  My left eye looks lower than my right.   was born cross-eyed and had eye muscle surgery when I was 11 1/2 months old.  I shoudl have had a follow-up surgery to tweak it but I didn't, so it's slightly off.  My brain has never been able to put the two images together properly as it should, so I don't see in true 3D like most people...and it's impossible for me to see those "magic eye" pictures.  I just ignore one image except to fill in the peripheral.  But...it's kind of a cool stupid human trick, looking in two places at once.  If I concentrate, I can focus on both pictures, and can do stuff like watching the road and my speed at the same time. LOL :-)  Since I mostly ignore my left eye anyway, I don't correct it with a lens of any kind.  I do wear a contact in my right eye, which brings it up to 20/20 or very close to that.  Another bonus is that I don't need an actual 3D movie for it to look pretty much the same as real life to me.  ;-)  I do have issues recognizing faces though, and not having depth perception means I tend to suck at sports...can't tell how far away that stupid goal or ball is! LOL

My vision is abysmal, like 20/300.  I have worn glasses since fourth grade.  Contacts squick me out, so I don't wear them.  I've had a few photos taken of me with my glasses off and I honestly like how I look with them on, far better.

My vision isn't perfect, but I don't wear glasses all the time either. Just for reading / drawing. My eyesight is overall pretty good, although I do get blurred or double vision from time to time, but I think that has to do with balance / migraine issues.

I had an eye exam done on me yesterday and both my eyes are a little worse than -7 nearsightedness. The good (?) news is that my prescription hasn't changed in 9 years. I ordered a pair of glasses from the Zenni Optical place that was linked to earlier in this thread. We'll see how it goes.

I wear contacts. While I'd love to have laser surgery, my eye doctor told me years ago that he's had patients who work full-time at computer jobs (like me) and their eyesight has reverted back. Maybe I should get a second opinion though...

Oh wow, this opened a can of worms!

I was born with cataracts, had them removed at 6 weeks, started contacts at 6 months( Bless my daddy!). I had lens implants at 20, laser correction for scar tissue at 21... ( oh, its fine!! we'll do it in office!) One weekend, Saturday emergency Retina specialist later, I had to be rushed to have my eye opened to remove a non-dissolving blockage.... my pressure shot from 20 to over 60!
Fast forward 8 pretty good years, and I suddenly felt like I was looking through wavy glass... That was Macular cysts, which 4 years later, I STILL have to see a Retina specialist for monthly injections and drops... Every month I go in there, I feel like I am a kid in the geriatric ward!  At least it is only the left!

I have astigmatism in both, major night vision issues, and strabismus and a droopy eyelid on the left because of all the shots.

BUT, as I have been told so many times, I CAN SEE! I can drive, I can go to school ,and I can be active! My mom was born the same way, and she was too old by the time the surgery came around for it to work. She still worked, and never let it stop her!

My vision is terrible, but I wear contacts. I'm to the point of having coke bottle lenses and paying more for thin versions. I've debated surgery before, but I'm just scared of it honestly.
