Best Way to Sell Customs?
« on: January 24, 2013, 09:01:16 PM »
I know that the market for custom buying isn't that great, but I do have some that I want to get rid of eventually.  I just don't know the best way to go about doing it.

My customizing skills are amateur at best, so that makes it harder.  It's difficult to compete with people who have been doing it for a long time, have steadier hands, have more resources, etc.

Any ideas?

id sugest include them with your next garrage sale, or  put together some stuff to do a small stall at a local flea market.

alternitivly you could try listing them for sale on line on sites like ebay.
but you may have to relist the items several times before they sell

To be honest, I have no clue what's the best way is.

My experience (and that's kinda sad sometimes) if your customs are not perfect or makes everyone say UH and OH they might stay with ya forever.

I'm trying to sell some of my older customs for ages. If no one likes it you won't sell it even if you offer it for five bugs or less =(

It could be frustrating that you might want to throw them away (that happened to me once) but I redesigned some of them and sold them after that.

BUT you can always try it on ebay, etsy or also here or Deviantart... you never know probably someone likes exactly what you've created and then you are lucky and might be able to sell it =)

Don't sell yourself short!  I think my Halloween pony from you is lovely! :)  But...also, maybe offer them at a lower price here first where we're all custom lovers?

I've had a few customs in the past that would not leave my house!  So I finally just caved, listed them on eBay for $0.99 and hoped for the best.  Some surprised me by going for $14+, most were in the $5-$10 range, and one went for the $0.99.  But they had new homes that saved them from the trash, so I was happy.  Each pony for me is an experience had.
