Discontinuing Disney Animator Collection dolls this year
« on: January 23, 2013, 09:20:00 AM »
Just thought I'd share this little tibit with my fellow Disney enthusiasts:  I went to the Disney store yesterday after work to see if they had any new releases for their Princess doll collections.  After some bantering with the clerk on how the new Tinkerbell is too soft and cute and how we appreciated the old Tink much more due to her spunk, he informed me they were discontinuing the Animator Collection dolls this year.  What ever they had on the shelves would be it.     Which means I need to hurry and get Ariel, Pochahontas, and Aurora for my collection!  :scared:

That's a shame. I admit I don't collect them, though I was thinking about it. They are gorgeous dolls.

I have a store local to me. Maybe I'll have to pick these up before they disappear forever.

Awwww. What a bummer. These are adorable. Thanks for the heads up. I was still on the fence about some of these, but I wonder if it isn't worth it to get them now.

Thanks for the warning - Guess I should go ahead and snag Ariel and Belle, at the very least, before they go away for good.  I wish I had a Disney store closer to me!

I wonder what they are going to replace them with? The DS seemed to always have some kind of toddler sized doll even before the Animators Collection came along.

They're still available and the announcement hasn't been made yet, so I am sure there is still some time for you to get Ariel before the dolls sell out.

I am going to try to save up the cash to get each one. LOL. I guess we'll see how that goes!

I have a DS local to me, so if you need me to pick one up and hang on to her for you at some point, feel free to let me know and I'll make sure you get an Ariel of your very own. ^_^

I had  a friend tell me of their impending doom, back around Christmas time so I went ahead and bought a Rapunzel and a Belle for the little one for Christmas. I have a full set of the dolls NRFB that I picked up over last year but I ended up getting a second Rapunzel and Ariel to debox as they are my absolute favorites. I was always hoping they would do a second line with like Alice in Wonderland and Tinkerbelle even if they are not proper princesses

I bought Aurora for my little niece last year and she was so very cute. I'm sad that the dolls are being discontinued and I also wonder what toddler dolls the Disney Store will be carrying to replace them, assuming they do (and like it was already noted by Wardah above, they probably will do). Just the ones they have at TRUs and stuff right now, maybe? Those aren't nearly as cute as the Animator dolls imo (I bought a non-Animator Collection Ariel toddler doll for my niece a year ago too hehe).
