I got a box of chocolates from a local candy store. They are blackberry jelly filled! Yum!

I bought him a mini poster from a local restaurant that does themed sandwiches. They had a TMNT sandwich this month. And the poster had his favorite turtle, Raphael on it.

how about a topic swap. you each picks a topic, for example space and you get the person items related to that topic. they could make a list in relation to stuff they would want or don't want. could be educational fun.

or even a location swap when you just send the person a small box of local items as if they had been on holiday there or something like that

I hope my partner likes them, because I got her one.  It's for a collection that has almost no merchandise, so I thought it would be nice. 
Technically, I have enough for my $25 partner, but I want to get at least one more thing.  I saw something on etsy I might buy. I've got a bunch of little things for my $40, and I've spent less than half my budget.  And I'm going to wrap every little thing separately!

During my last swap I didn't have any extra brown boxes, so I put some of my partner's things in a light bulb box and some others in one of my husband's Warhammer boxes.

I figure the boxes aren't going to be kept anyway, so I don't see a problem with it. It's what's inside that counts!

I once sent a swap package off in a toaster box! I never buy boxes, I just save the ones sent to me (bubble wrap & peanuts too).
