Is it wrong to think....
« on: January 18, 2013, 08:23:05 AM »
When I have a pony with fading pink hair the first thing I think is...I have to stick you in the center of a dark abyss so light can ever find you!

Kind of strange??

Not any stranger than when mine start fading, I get all giddy since I think most of them look better with white hair. lol

I'm terrified of the day my MGR Flower Bouquet's hair finally fades to white :P she's one of my favorite ponies, she looks pretty with pink hair, not white!

I often wonder why Hasbro used hair that fades? Or did they not know?

All of mine get put at the edges of my shelves where there is less light, I'd hate for them fade!

It's like hair dyes for people. I fyou ahve ever colroed your hair pink or red it fades pretty quick. reds and pinks aren't so stable so perhaps that's why pony hair fades so easy. ever had ared shirt thta th edye pumps out of when you wash it?

I can't even collect ponies with fading pink hair anymore, I get too paranoid about them.   No fun!   It's a shame, because I LOVE the color when it's a strong pink.

Ponies arent really designed to be long term collectables so unfortunately for Hasbro I guess it probably doesnt matter that the hair is prone to fading :(

And yes I know this feeling - I seem to push some ponies further and further into darker and darker corners as the years pass.

If I get a pony with fading pink that hasn't already faded to white, I'm going to sew her a cute hat to tuck her hair in, and something to put over her tail! LOL

I live in Australia where the sunlight is so bright it will fade a pony in minutes.
There are blinds on all my windows and the pink haired ponies are put in the back of shelves and cabinets where they are in no direct light...

it's probably a little obsessive... just a little :)

Nah, that's not strange. My Posey is in the very back of one of my pony cubbies, and I went super nuts about fading when I cleaned my friend's pony family, so I kept them in a dark corner of my closet for a while. :P

Yeah, it bugs me and I try to get ponies with unfaded hair, but you can always repink-- I've done quite a few now, with Posey probably being my best result. I'm working on a Flurry that should look lovely when I've got her hair all dyed. Original unfaded hair is best of course, but nothing lasts forever.

I don't think anyone in my herd is prone to fading, I think though when I got a Posey second hand I didn't know her hair was meant to be pink.
It's not weird though.
