I haven't made socks, but I did manage to make sleeves and a sweater out of a old sock!! It's kinda cute and a little clunky, but it's cute. I wish I knew how to make socks/tights.

Ok so I promised pics of my dolly converse and Doc Marten boots!  :-D  So both of them fit a little large, but I think they look cutely large rather than clownish :)  Because of the heavier weight and flat soles, they also allow the dolls to stand on their own really well.  I believe I bought the Converse shoes online, probably from Mimiwoo on ebay.  The Doc Marten boots are Ixtee brand, and I believe they are also on ebay or available from thisisblythe.com
Hope this was helpful!

What kind of shoes are you looking for exactly?  There are a lot of places that have very nice shoes for Blythe that would probably also fit Monster High girls.
BHC has a lot of really elaborate ones:  http://www.bhchk.com/eng/p1.asp?ItemClass1=Shoes+%2F+Boots

And earlier, I linked to thisisblythe, which is a US seller:  http://www.thisisblythe.com/shop/cart.php?target=category&category_id=168
She has several Doc Marten style boots in stock as well, like this cute pair with skulls:  http://www.thisisblythe.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=8818&category_id=168
Or these riveted ones:  http://www.thisisblythe.com/shop/cart.php?target=product&product_id=8820&category_id=168

I'd also like to recommend mimiwoo as a seller, in general. I've been very pleased with her prices, shipping and overall quality of her items :)

For those of us totally unfamiliar with BJD style shoes, how do we know we're getting the right ones? And Daiyuflower, what size are those white boots? I love the fit on them!
I primarily collect G1/G3 Ponies, Littlest Pet Shop, Monster High dolls and Mini Lalaloopsies. I also collect vinyl figures, dolls and 80's toys in general.

Well, I don't recommend BJD shoes, since shoes sized for yosd are going to be too big, and shoes for tiny/mini BJDs would be too small.  The boots that Ghoulia is modeling above were made for Blythe or Pullip dolls, and those are probably the best bet for MH.  Blythe and Pullip do have smaller feet though, so shoes that are more fitted like flats or heels are not going to fit MH.  The boots above are on the larger side, and obviously, since they're flat-soled, Ghoulia's feet don't go all the way to the front.  I have more Blythe shoes that I can continue to try on my MH girls, if you guys are interested :)

I bought a pair of high top converse shoes from Hotdotz Blythe. Definitely too big for MH but work well for my pullip since they have larger heads. So... If you go to their shop, just letting you know that they won't work for MH. I'm not sure if that applies to ALL of their shoes, but definitely the converse shoes. They are, however, extremely well made!
Doll shoes are so ridiculously cute asfsddgdd!

Eta: These! These shoes alone inspired me to get her a new wig and eye chips. <w<
