I see you've already had this, but the first thing I thought when I saw her was, "OOOOH! SPIRIT!!!" :p She's a stunner! I've always wanted a buckskin or dun horse, it's my favourite colouring.

And Man O War? Wow, that is so neat. There's a side of a building in St. Jacob's, Ontario that has a painting on it (Mennonite style, horse pulling a carriage), and we got to talk to the artist while she was working on it, and she used Man O War as the horse in the painting.

I'm so sorry to hear that you lost your horse. 

But congrats on finding Lucy, she is breathtaking!  I just adore buckskins, they're quite possibly my favorites.  And her little foal grew up into quite the handsome horse too!  The fact that she's related to Man-O-War is pretty awesome, I'm a big Derby fan.

Thanks everyone! She's quite the looker, eh? And her baby is gorgeous. He's still at the farm where Lucy is so got to meet him, and he's such a sweetie too.

Kiwi - I'll have to go looking for that building in St. Jacob's next time I'm around. I've only been to St. Jacob's a few times (grew up in Aylmer, lived in Mississauga the last 8 years, just moved to Edmonton in June), but never saw that building. We're coming home in February, so if we have time maybe we'll make a side trip to St. Jacob's.
