There was an ad in a Kmart flyer last month about ponies being on sale and they used a picture of Cupcake but she had yellow in her tail & mane so it took me like 20 minutes to figure out what pony she was Mine doesn't have yellow either... maybe it was something they just decided to scrap? Personally I like how the yellow looks..

On another note, I wish that they would put out a non-glimmer wing Sweet Song.

There was a Non-Gimmerwing Sweet Song release... First in Int'l and I think there was a ride along one for the US with Rarity... I remember my friend getting her and she doesn't order anything outside the US

Oh wow, really? I don't think anyone has actually seen a regular Cupcake release like that!  You should find that picture and scan it   

As for the prototype for Cupcake, she does not have the yellow in her tail. The one I am talking about is the one used in all of the promo pictures, with the reversed hair.

As for this gal's tail, it is a tail that has never been on an officially released pony. The tail has been seen on the Cupcake-coloured unicorns and a tinsel version on the Pinkie Pie and Fluttershy-eyed Cupcake coloured ponies. I am curious too why there are tails like these. Maybe they were going to use them for Cupcake originally and decided not to.

Yup - another mismatch body/head combo lol. It is as simple as a head, a tail and a body unfortunately - sometimes I think the options are limitless especially when you see the frankenponies with which they dont even try to match the head and body colours
