Photo Backgrounds- ever notice..

  .. candid backgrounds in peoples pictures? I've always found it a little interesting when folks take pictures of ponies, dolls, animals, ect.. in a setting with a noisy background. Being A.D.D. I always notice the background. heh heh
  You can sometimes tell a lot about a person by their pictures if they don't 'set' a background for photos, especially now with digital. I personally try to always have a plain background for my photos just no one is looking into my life! (unless I'm doing it on purpose, of course! LOL) I wonder if people with really goofy backgrounds even realize they are posting fantastic distractions for the masses to ogle.

  Anyone notice photo backgrounds besides me?

I get distracted by this all the time. You can tell a lot about a person with just one picture. When I take pictures I have to do them a bunch with different shots. I once found a monster high doll for sell on ebay and right in front of the rare doll was a ashtray full of cig butts... I ask the seller if the doll smelled like smoke and the reply was "oh no I dont think so, not to me it dosnt smell like smoke"  Wow! thats a seller for sure!

Hahaha, I rarely pay attention to that! but I think i'll start now ^^
In most of my pony photos you can see a cat in the background (often in the forefront too, nosy little things). But EWW the ashtray photo :S

I notice, though it doesn't bother me. I actually kinda like seeing what else people have in their rooms or whatever lol. But I do try to always have a background in my photos, rather than just...a mess. =P

I notice and it botters me. Especially when I'm in the mood for a purchase and can't see the pony for all the clutter in the background. I always try to have some sort of plain background in my photos. If there is mess around in my pics, it's suppose to be, like in my avatar right now.

lol if it was something i was trying to sell then yeah plain background, focus on the item ... but most of my pics are for pic fics and the background is there for a reason lmao

when ponies or dolls are shown on bookshelves.... i will spend endless amounts of time trying to see what each and every book is.

I do it all the time with convention photos. I end up more interested in what cosplays I can find in back than the subject proper.

Yes. Sometimes it's cute stuff "oh neat, they like star trek" from a poster on the wall or a collection on display, or I'll admire their decor choices. Speaking of which, kamakazee82 I LOVE that area rug!

Other times sad to say, I make assumptions. On ebay when something I want is photographed in front of a bad mess, I assume the person could be disorganized or my parcel may have surprises (like odors/ flaws not seen/small accessories missing from the package) and I'll bid way way less if it's something I really want, or not at all if it's something I could take or leave. By mess I don't mean normal stuff. I've seen ebay items placed on desks/tables covered with dirty dishes, take out wrappers, soda cans that one would assume have been accumulating for a while, or ponies photographed on a floor coated with pet hair, bits of random things and dirt. Those "backdrops" always puzzled me with auction photos, like don't you want high bids? in front of an ashtray? yeah, not bidding. But at least with an ashtray in the photo it's a clear warning they're from a smoking home.

I notice them! They are excellent for swap stalking! You can sometimes see peeks of other things your partners are into!

I take a look at backgrounds. Sometimes they are neat. I like seeing how other people decorate. It really bothers me when someone takes a pic of something to sell and you can see a messy room or trash.

If I see a shelf of games, movies, or books in the background of someones pictures, I try to see what they are and judge them for their taste.

I know it's crass and juvenile, but I don't care.
