Commonest pony? Also, starting a G1 spreadsheet

So I'm sitting here after an uneventful New Year's celebration, and I need more PONY.
Usually you get all these questions about "the rarest pony". But what about the commonest?

What pony have you seen innumerable times, or owned so many of them they had their own bin?
What ponies are common "army" choices due to their ubiquity?
And has anyone actually compiled a rarity index of G1s? Because I'm thinking of starting a pony spreadsheet... list of every G1 that has personally passed into/through my ownership. This would hopefully remove (some of) the bias of my personal preferences, although I do tend to buy ponies that appeal to me visually.

I'm not a G1 expert, but I'm sure Firefly, Gusty, Moonstone and maybe the core 6 (Blossom, Cotton Candy, Minty and etc.) are really common. If not, then I'm gonna hide and won't show up again

Peachy is very common as she was released three times

Are Lemon Drop and Cotton Candy as common as I think they are?

My last bait lot had several Peachys and Cotton Candys.  Also Moon Dancers.

I'd say yes pour Lemon Drop, but I think Cotton Candy is a little less common in itself. But since a lot of country produced their own Cotton Candy, there's a lot of them.

Here in France, the 3rd place will go to NBBE cuddles but that's because we didn't have the BBE one.

I agree that Peachy is really common, I don't think I've ever seen a Peachy army though...

Some of the ponies that you'd think are common, for example Tootsie, can take quite a long time to track down if you aren't buying big lots and there are others, like Majesty is quite common but extremely HTF in mint condition.

I wound up with quite a few D&P duplicates and that's how that army started, same with my SLH G3s - I ended up with a lot of Petal Blossom and a couple of others.

In the US I've come across pretty much the same ponies already mentioned numerous times...

moondancer
mo rice krispies baby/baby stockings
nbbe cuddles
(As for original 6; it's hard to come by butterscotch and minty; rarely see them here.)

Peachy and Firefly def! Lemon Drop and Cotton Candy is high on the list - oh and the Rice Krispies Baby Pony --they seem to breed at my house.

Lemon Drop and Peachy. After that I have to say Cherries Jubilee. I seem to get her in every lot I buy..

Peachy, Cotton Candy and Lemon Drop must easily be the most common ponies - followed by Posey and Tootsie and sometimes Bow Tie and Apple Jack.

As much as I would like to say that its pretty much all the ponies from the first couple of years that are the easiest to come by - Butterscotch and Minty disprove that theory a little by sometimes being a little illusive. But the rule does tend to be ponies from Year 1 and Year 2.

Sundance is also a pretty common pony although she was a slightly later release.
 
I dont think I have seen one pony more than another become an army - so I dont think you can say how common a pony it is makes it more likely to always be an army. Yes sometimes armies come about because people end up with a lot of the same pony by mistake but from when I see when people post about armies, the reason they have so many of the same ponies is because they like that pony and deliberately seek it out. Therefore, all kinds of ponies whether common or hard to find can be an army.

Definitely Peachy!  Also Cotton Candy and Glory...  I have 5 each of them respectively...  *siiiigh*

Firefly and Peachy.  Finding a Peachy with a matching head and body is the real challenge, though!
