Hi Ponies!  :)

After finishing my ponies in the Alt-Rehair swap, my sister adored the ponies I did and requested I do her a custom pony for her Birthday.

Since it will be her 30th (on 22nd of December), I opted for something a bit girly and glamourous and came up with this. She hasn't seen her yet (nor is she a member here/knows of this place) so I thought it safe to post.

Mystic Swirls began life as a very yellowed Seashell and is my first completed custom pony from scratch - also was my first time doing hair twists/pins and working with crystals - she was hard work and took *ages* to complete, but I think she was worth it!  ^.^

Rehaired in: Ultraviolet and Hematite with streaks of Water Nixie. Painted in metallic purple and sealed with Liquitex Gloss (absolutely LOVE this stuff - so much better than Mod Podge!!) and crystals were Swarovski heliotrope (wish I could have found smaller sizes for her).

Full name credits go to my daughter too, who came up with it while I was still painting her - creative little poppet she is!  :lol:

she is gorgeous, that hair is just stunning, and her detailed painting is perfect, and I LOVE the colours.

beautiful!!!!! love the colours. and the way you curled the tail - so pretty!! and the hair twists - wow! and the writing - how on earth did you do such fine script, and outline it too??!! heliotrope is one of the best swarovski effects :) what a way to make her day even more special. wow!!!

With a great deal of patience! >_< I painted the script first, then realised it looked so washed-out against her body! So I used a Reaper Taklon [spelling?] 30 paintbrush (ebay) and carefully outlined the script - took *ages* and a toothpick was my friend indeed in those times where my tired hand spazzed and caused a fatter line.  :lol:
