My Horse Renny is close to having her baby! on Foal watch

BLIMEY I didn't think Renny was that tall! She's huge! Definitely reminds me of Bear then, she was 17hh and took an extra month and a half to have her baby. All was well, she and the foal were fine, and the filly was *tiny* but grew like a sprout. We never figured out why.

If Renny's got a 'flobby bottom' around her flank then she should be really close to foaling, and shape changing means the foal should be turning around to face backwards. If she needs a bit of help, the vet can give her a muscle relaxant and help pull the baby out with her contractions, it's usually fine.

Knowing her now, she'll probably sprog out a baby whilst you've got your back turned. Come on Renny!

All she needs is the lacing coat pattern and she could be a giraffe! I'm still here hoping all goes well too.

BLS, Renny is going to make it through this, and so will the foal! There is no doubt in my mind. She has the prayers and thoughts of everyone who knows her story, and most important she has you!

You are watching her like a hawk, and are doing the absolute best you can for her and the foal. Even with the concerns over her age and past history, she is going to be just fine, and will be a happy mommy mare soon!

STILL no baby!

well sad news...    theres a chance she may have miscarried....   the baby isnt moving much that i can tell and they said its not sitting in the right place in back.   the baby was confirmed there via palpation a few weeks ago and was still moving fine.   the vets have told me to wait til march 6th passes and if there is no foal by then, they will have to come remove a stillborn.   

  ive been crying my eyes out, i could feel him moving just days ago and now they think its not alive?  im hoping the vets are just very wrong.  i tried so hard to get her healthy and keep baby safe.    theres still a chance everything is fine and the baby is just sitting strangely and not moving much.   please keep good thought for renny and her foal please everyone   the next few weeks are going to be very tedious and stressful for me.
