Doll clothing self-challenge: Clothing Storage (pg. 21)

Thanks, guys! My Maji is a resinsoul 'Ai' and is easily the oddest doll I have! Her faun legs are just so odd to pose and stand. I do love her to bits, though! Needless to say she won't be getting any stockings! LOL Although, I might whip up some furry leg-warmers for her if I get the time.

  Can't wait to see the stockings start popping up on the thread!

I made my stockings yesterday. Easiest thing ever using Salli's instructions up there.

Maddie PMed me a good question about which fabric to buy when you live far from a fabric store (actually, I would probably die). I hate buying fabric online, especially stretchy fabric for dollie stuff. I would recommend cabbaging some high-quality nylons (opaque ones are great!) or some really thin socks, like trouser socks for ladies. Patterned nylons are in right now and they are great if the pattern is small enough. The little girls' sections of stores have great colored leggings you can butcher too I will sew some up and post today (along with my kilt that is long overdue )

oh, I'm so glad to see I'm not the only one who thinks many children's clothes have awfully cute patterns and would look awesome re-sewn into dolly stuff. I just bought some used baby and children's clothes for this purpose last week during a sale at a second hand cloth shop. I can't wait to re-think them into dolly clothes! ^^

Here are Monkey's new stockings. Well really just super tall socks They're made from baby onesies. I use lots of kids clothes in my designs.

I've been saving all my kids' baby clothes that have gotten ruined somehow to turn into doll or pony clothes! It's so much better than throwing them away for sure!

I have a friend that thrifts and is constantly on the lookout for clothes with small print for me to reuse as doll clothes! (As if I've made soooOOooo much! ) hee hee

The skirt is patched together from some lace and the pants off a Ken doll. The shirts are also from said Ken doll. I wasn't happy with the tube top and circle skirt I originally made her so I went out and bought these, lol.

Yes, I cruise the baby aisle for good small stripes (I love stripes) I bought a 2nd-hand girl's skirt because it had the cutest eyelet pattern on the edge. Not sure what to do with it yet though

Vertefae, I love Monkey's new stockings, and lemontwist, that skirt is gorgeous! what a nice idea to re-think Ken outfits if you only need a tiny bit bigger clothes to fit

I'm also having a crazy week with almost no time in the evenings (I'm switching jobs currently, I still work at the former one but I already have to run around and arrange things for the other one), so I only got to dust mom's sewing machine today, now I'm changing the needle (I bought a set of thin ball-points), but I forgot to buy oil, which I'm sure the poor machine is heavily in need of so I can't try it out, let alone sew.
I would also vote for a 2-week-term instead of the current one, I think that would make things easier for everyone. but only if noone minds or finds it too long (I doubt we'd get bored though ^^ ).

Not for me, I have one legging down and just one to go. I should be able to wrap them both up tonight. They're gonna be sooo cute! Even if a bit Christmassy.   Nice PB! I'm a chicken to try to work with hosiery even though I  love the look of a doll with panty-hose; so classy! Did they give you any grief?

I never have time, but I managed to find about an hour to get these done yesterday. They weren't hard (again, big thanks to Salli's tips!! ) just a bit tedious. They were pretty fun, actually. :3 Some of my tinies will be getting matching stocks Christmas 2013, for sure, for sure!!
