Nightmare Moon Set Turned into Christmas Ornaments???? WUT???

As per my pony addition requirements, I found myself browsing eBay and see that someone has taken the Toyrus exclusive set ponies with Nightmare Moon and made them into tree ornaments.    Srlsy?

That is a lot of money to turn into ornaments. Though, if I actually did math (woaaah) I'm sure it would probably equal out to normal ornament costs. To each their own I guess, but I'm not a fan... it's like those phone covers they make by cutting the pony in half

I'm all for customizing etc if a pony is in bad shape but taking a sought after pony like Nightmare Moon and "upgrading" her this way isn't for me.

But it's not that those ponies are rare, they are still available. So, to each their own!

It seems like people do this sometimes because they think it will sell better.  Sort of like that person on etsy making necklaces with G1s.  Buying from them to rescue the ponies just encourages them to make more.

I would also say to each his own, IF they were keeping them for themselves and not selling them.

Nightmare Moon's retail price is somewhere about $10 to $11... this is based on if the normal sized ones in the set are about $5 to $6 in retail, and sets generally follow the process of more in a set the supposed 'cheaper' it is per item in set... and if you look up Nightmare Moon on Ebay, most people try to sell her at about the price of the set, which is kind of over priced xD

I think it's a bit silly that people stick an eyelet screw into a pony and attach some string or a clip and it's suddenly sell-able as an ornament or keychain. I mean, do people actually buy this stuff? It seems like a really common thing to do with blind bag ponies. I saw a brushable Twilight Sparkle with a ribbon tied around her neck being sold on ebay as a Xmas ornament a couple days ago.

I'll be honest, I do that :-P  But I don't sell them though.  I just have so many blind bags, and quite a bit of doubles, and I really love wearing necklaces with big pendants, so...yeah.  They're just fun things for me to wear.  I wouldn't sell them, myself, though.

Yup, this is my thinking too. I see no problem with it, heck my christmas tree is covered with blind bags But it's so easy and cheap to do that it is pretty silly when people try to sell them for twice the price of the pony. Pssst, that eye screw cost you about 3c

They're still selling them, it's not like they're rare, d00d. Nightmare Moon would make a better angel, though.
