Interest in Ponies from Argentina

Hi hi,

I have a work mate from Argentina who will be going home for a visit soon and she thinks that she may have some childhood ponies she would be willing to bring back and sell...

I dont know much about these girls at all and I know the pricing really would depend on the pony and condition, but just in case she does bring some back I guess I was wondering what the level of interest in these girls is and roughly what the pricing has been like lately?

I dont own any and dont know much about it other than an arena and google search, so any advice welcome!

I found the old spotlight on Argentina that said they go for about $30-$120? Would you say this is still accurate?

i am an argie nut! and my goal is to own every single one ^_^
so if she has one i need or one that i need to upgrade i am totally interested!

if there are ones that she has that are not in my album then they are most likely very rare and of course valuable and i NEEED THEM!!! ahem... i digress lol

As soon as I hear I will let you guys know now that Im aware there are people looking for them As I say, this does depend on her A) actually finding some and B) them being real nirvanas

In terms of pricing... would you say that they have to be in mint condition to be sellable? or is there a market for them pre-loved?

Ah also might be a stupid question, but are there any specific features I can tell her to look for on her childhood ones to varify they are argies? do they say made in Argentina at all?

some say Argentina, especially the babies but many have no country on their feet.
most of them don't resemble US ponies at all... totally different colors and poses so if they look like the ones in my pics then they are argies.
as for the few look a likes, for instance the original 6, the eyes are distinctive and usually are marked no country.
many argies are in poor or fair condition. most people have learned to accept that flaws are expected for argies and they definitely still sell

Now I am not the least bit interested in any Argie ponies....haven't you heard - I am downsizing (so I can get more Tee Hee!!!)

oh yes! those are tricky too because they are marked hasbro argentina... but the eyes and tail plugs are a dead give away

It does depend on the pony in question, but there is often a market for well-loved Nirvana ponies. I think there is a good chance they're not US imports

I just love to restore poor ponies and I think there are lots of others too who will be interested in the ponies even if tehy´re not in the best of conditions.
