Deboxing ponies vs dolls...is this weird?

I am a strict NRFBer and always have been. I'm a new pony collector and am collecting just G4s...and for some reason, I want to debox! I wouldn't dream of deboxing my dolls...but why do I want to debox my ponies? Anyone else like this?

I'm the other way around.  Any doll I get, regardless of value is out of the box, but ponies stay in.  I think its because of how they display.  I like how ponies look in the box, but generally, not so much with the dolls I buy.

for me it  depends on the pony..most of hte mlp coem right otu of the box,. but yet  my collectors edtion woodys roundup bullseyes and Pony pony stay in there boxes withotu a 2nd hought

I completely understand that with G4s - they are just too cute out of the boxes that I always want to free them

I satisfy this urge by buying loose ones, too, of any pony that strikes my fancy.  But all my new 'toys' stay MIB.

I kept my packaging for my G4s (minus for poor Diamond Rose whom was my third G4...) 

I love having them out to play with, but when I moved I decided to package em all back up. Now they look so nice in their boxes and until I'm a bit more settled they are looking lovely without me having to worry about dust and such. <3

I understand both sides....but love love having them out and interacting with each other.  I had the large talking Celestia/Cadance on my highest shelf and they looked very dominating. Like guardians of the room.... 

I too buy loose ones when I can find them in case I want some to stay in box
