Anyone around here make dishes?
« on: November 27, 2012, 04:07:08 PM »
A friend of mine asked me the other day if I knew of anyone who made candy dishes, because she wants to get a custom one done for her father for Christmas. Off the top of my head I don't know of any places or people that do anything like that, but then I realized that asking around here would probably be a good start :D So, does anyone here do custom dishes or know of any good places to look into? Thanks!

Not a clue. Do you have a preferred material for it to be made of? Glass? Ceramic? Wood? .....?

No clue who does, but Etsy is a good place to look too.

Not anymore, no.

Its not that hard to make the ceramic ones yourself as long as you have a place with a kelm^^ Our ceramics place shut down awhile ago

I read the title and thought of a project we are trying with our Girl Scout Troop.  You take those round mints and arrange them on a baking try covered in parchment and heat to make candy dishes.  Not helpful I know but will give you a bump back up.

Do you mean waht Diamond is talking about or some sort of ceramic dish to hold candy? I'm confused, but I do know someone that has her own studio and makes dishes ect for sale. Problem is I'm not sure if I can still find her Facebook of if she ships out anywhere but locally. I can look if that's what you're looking for feel free to send me a pm. I can try to track her down. ^.^

I would try etsy.  Or perhaps she could look for ways to make on herself if she is crafty!  :)

For example: this one is cute and looks fun to make: http://bellartdesigns.hubpages.com/hub/How-to-Make-a-Flower-Pot-Candy-Dish-Step-by-Step-Instructions
