Weird hair on Walmart bonus-pack ponies?
« on: November 25, 2012, 10:58:50 AM »
I picked up the Walmart bonus pack, with Cheerilee/CMC and Twilight/Celestia, last night, and after opening them, I noticed that the hair seems weird. It feels different; a bit dry to the touch, almost like the hair on a McDonalds pony. Plus, with the Crusaders, especially Applebloom and Scootaloo, their hair seems stringy.

It's been months since I bought new ponies, having taken an interest in MH dolls... Am I maybe just used to the texture and feel of the saran hair on the dolls, and that's why the nylon on the ponies feel weird to me? Or has anyone else noticed something off about this set?

Hmmm...that's interesting. Considering how late after the initial release of both packs this bonus pack is I wonder if its a different manufacture?

Would be interesting to hear from anyone who has both releases.

Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I only have the original releases and the hair from all of the ponies is soft and not dry at all.

Just give them some conditioner. I had to do that to my Blossomforth I opened last year.
When the Equestria Girls dolls show up in stores and you end up with unneeded doubles, PM me! I'll buy them!/i]

That is interesting to know. I was going to buy a set but not sure if its worth it. I have the set with Spike in it already.

i just recently got the apple bloom/sweetie belle at the fair pack, and apple bloom's hair definitely didn't feel right. some of my other recent purchases have had nice silky hair, but it sooo needs to be styled. cannot get it to sit right like some of the older ones. i think it's the ones who's hair is carded that are worse, the ones who's hair is taped to their legs seem to be ok.
