Just a quick question on Arena etiquette

  Just a little question, since I'm a newbie who's only made a few purchases through here.
  Once you've received the package and you want to let the seller know, is it more polite to send them a PM saying that the mail has been received, or is it better to just leave the feedback? I feel like it's more polite to leave a personalized message to say it got here, and to say "thank you" and what-not, but on the other hand, is that just cluttering the PM inbox?  Do you think people would prefer to have fewer messages in their inbox than to have me try and be polite? Once I just left feedback and no other message, but it just felt weird. 
  It's a kind of silly question with no negative repercussions either way, but it's still something I've been wondering about.

I always leave a polite PM to let them know that it has arrived, that i'm happy with the item and going to leave feedback and if they can do the same please.

I think its just a little courtesy

I usually do both. Shoot them a message saying "thank you, it's arrived and off to leave feedback".

I also send a message to say thanks & leave feedback. I usually do both at the same time so that I don't forget one or the other, lol! I don't think anyone would mind a polite message or a "thank you". In most cases, the seller/trading partner will probably be happy to know that you are satisfied with the transact rather than thinking they have "too many pm-s".

Most might like a message. I know I tend to just leave feedback, but I have a busy  box. It gets cluttered fast.

I always do both.  The message is a courtesy to let the other member know that their package made it safely and to thank them.  The feedback is important too, but I don't think it's a replacement for a quick PM.

I do both too. I send a pm telling them the item arrived and thank them and then i leave feedback.

I also do both   I know that a message goes through to say that feedback has been left anyways on the new Arena, but I still think its better to send a message and personally thank the seller/let them know the item arrived safely , as well as leave feedback

I do both too.  That way they get the message ASAP whilst the feedback needs to go through editing etc first.

Excellent! I like to leave a personal message saying thanks and I'm happy with the purchase and such, I was just worried people might think "Why does she think I care?" Wow, now that I type that out, I really sound like a worrywart.  Thanks guys!

Absolutely I like to do both!  I like messaging the buyer to let them know things have arrived safely and enjoy hearing from buyers if it's the other way around. The world seems so short on manners nowadays and I think it's not only polite to let the seller know your item has arrived, but a nice personal touch, too

As a seller, you really only need to leave me feedback if all is OK. I read each feedback that is left for me.  If there is a problem, I prefer a PM so I can fix the problem. And if you do nothing, then I will poke you after a while to make sure you got your package.

I honestly prefer not getting PMs, because I have a TON that I have to work with and sort through, so it helps to cut the clutter.

That said, I will often leave a detailed feedback for a person, and only PM them a "Thanks! Got it!" type message, myself. It is the polite thing to do. Even though it isn't what I like, I know that others do like it.
