Sculpey over 3-d symbol advice...
« on: November 21, 2012, 08:23:10 AM »
Before I dive in...

I want to take a banana surprise (that I'll never sell-lol) and modify her 3-d symbol. Simple enough, but can I just fill sculpey over her existing symbol or do I need to wire in some type of base into her body? I don't want the scupley to simply fall off of her body if she's on display or handled a bit. Any ideas for how to tackle this?

Thanks in advance!

I'd think it would depend on how thick /heavy/large the sculpted bit would be.

Just enough to smooth off the bumps. Would guess no thicker than 1/8 of an inch.

Sculpy has a habbit of popping off pony bodies. I would suggest sanding a bit first perhaps and removing any dust so the sculpy may stick a bit better? I dunno. Usually when I use fimo/sculpy I pop off whatever I added and glue it back on. It should be alright
