There's a store called The Toy Vault in my town that sells old and new toys like action figures and lately they've been into my little pony.  They do have those cards.  I remember collecting lion king and disney but I never got them all.  I still have my card binder I made up.  It also had pogs and slammers in them but those seem to have disappeared.

For a full set of the Lion King cards? I would think they would be worth more than that but I have no idea how much more.

Cards like that really don't have much vale now days.  They saturated the market.
4.99 on the lion king sounds about right.

Wow, that's crazy.  I bought the Lion King ones for $60 for the complete set. Ouch.

Yeah, most CCG's don't hold any value.  We have binders of Star Wars and Star Trek and Babylon 5 and Magic and several other series but the shops around here laughed and said we'd likely have to pay someone to take them off our hands!

I sold a set of lion king series 1 & 2 on eBay about a year ago for well under $10AU for both sets. Unfortunately they just don't hold value. It is a stunning set however

I tried selling 90's Disney cards very similar to your Lion King ones. Even my set of The Little Mermaid cards wouldn't go for $5 on ebay. It's really a bummer!

If there are any very rare insert cards, such autographs , costume pieces or sketch cards those can be worth quite a bit.

The normal base sets of cards usually don't hold much of a general collector's value.

If you have the original Star Wars CCG by Decipher, many of the cards are actually worth something. Cards from the Reflections series and major chase rares are still in high demand by collectors and those that participate in the Players's Council that keeps the game running for fans.

As for magic, check a site like magiccards.info and search for the card name, then choose the version you have, and you will hopefully find a few that retain some serious value. You never know with magic, since a card worth nothing 5 years ago could suddenly be overpowered when used with new cards and the price goes insane.
