Oily Apoxie Clay?
« on: November 12, 2012, 08:15:51 AM »
So my stash of Apoxie Clay has been packed up for quite some time and one part has developed this kind of oily orangey goop on the top.  I wish I had thought to take a picture before I left for work, but has anyone else experienced this?  It's almost a full container, I'd hate to throw it out if it's salvageable.  Any chance that it'll blend with the other part still?

I heard it's contamination from the other part that causes it. It should still blend and cure normally, at least I had no problems. :)

I had a tub that came from the factory with yellow-orange stuff all over the top and the edges. When I contacted aves they told me it was just to do with the extrusion process and it shouldn't affect the product... now I wonder if it was something else? Hm.

I'm inclined to doubt that it is contamination. I am very very careful when I get mine out and it has an oily substance. It isn't orangey though. It tarted showing up a couple months ago and I would be willing to believe it was just age.
