Petite boil perm?

Has anyone successfully restored the tail of one of those petites with the tiny tight curls that invariably ends up as a bushy dreadlock?  I was thinking maybe a boil perm with toothpicks instead of straws.  Has anyone tried this?

Really makes you wonder what they were thinking sometimes How anyone would expect those locks to survive any child...

I once read a tutorial where someone used the plastic stick of a cotton bud [q-tip] - the really delicate but reasonable quality ones - essentially removing the the cotton and treating them like mini straws [which can also be bought of course]. Although I think they will do the same job as toothpicks.

It will be a fiddly job but I bet the results will be amazing! Good luck.

I never thought about using toothpics....that is a great idea!

I might have a go tomorrow, I have a day all to myself which I plan to spend doing nothing much in particular!  I will post pics if it goes well.
