I've been here a bit over 6 years. First few years I was just lurking because I was too embarrassed to write anything 'cause my english sucks. Then I decided that 'what the hay, they don't know me anyway so I might as well start posting and claim that I'm drunk or dyslexic or something'. And that's how Equestria was made!

I didn't realize it, but I just celebrated my 8th anniversary here.  I lurked for nearly a year though before I joined.

I'll be at 3 years January 18th. When I joined I had like 2 ponies. Now I have around 300. And most of them were purchased from members on here, too.

I joined a little over two years ago. A lot of my friends had abandoned me in the wake of my chaotic wedding, and I had rediscovered ponies when I went home to rescue my childhood collection from the attic. As my marriage went bad, buying, cleaning, restoring, and displaying ponies, as well as being on here with like-minded collectors and learning about the different gens and even some G1's I didn't remember, became like recreational therapy for me and it was one small area of my life that my husband could not involve himself in.

So yay, Arena, and thanks for all the sanity!!

A little over a year! It all started when my friend, who's been a pony collector for like, a decade, told me 'hey man, you like animation and good voice acting, right? You should check out the new pony show'. My reaction was something like 'Pshaw, ponies! Seriously? Ponies? Really?'. If anyone else had told me to check it out I wouldn't have, but I set my DVR to catch an episode and thought 'Hey, this is pretty slick, and the VO artists are really solid'. I thought it was fun to watch, but never planned on collecting.

Then TRU had a BOGO sale last June, and I bought the Mane Six, told myself 'Oh I'll stop there!'. Then I started styling them and thought 'this is kinda fun, it's sort of tricky, but with some work and creativity you can make their hair look really neat'. Then I bought a handful more and said 'I'll only collect G4s and only what can fit on my speakers'. The real estate on the speakers got rather thin, then I thought 'Ah, well, I'll only collect G4s'. Then, dang. I own every Fashion Style G4 except Pinkie Pie (going to snag the re-release with the totally awesome hat), and every G4 Playful Pony (sans re-releases) single except Plumsweet (if you have a spare you want to unload, MIB or loose, let me know), and about 80 G3s.

I never expected this.
