Venezuelan Tootsie wasn't treated like a lady...
« on: November 09, 2012, 03:13:26 AM »
Today I received my Venezuelan Tootsie from Mitchell-mugno. It arrived so fast!

This thread is not because the seller did anything wrong, because everything went so well!!!

This seller is to complain about what happened on Tootsie's way here. Mitchell-mugno put everything nice in the box. Bubblewrap around the hair to keep it in place, pony + comb in a bubblewrap bag, and what with the pony her box in the big FedEx box on the way to the Netherlands. To bad that's not the way it arrived here...

The pony was taken out of the bubblewrap bag and put back directly back in the box, with only the bubblewrap around her hair. The bag was not in the box, and also the comb is lost.

The box is torn apart on one side.

There's also sticky glue-ish stuff on the pony and some minor marks (the glue comes off, I still have to try to get the marks of).

What can I do about this?

What a serious disappointment

It seems I recall awhile back some other folks having issues with Venezuelan's and customs tearing them apart.
I will have to go look but I am pretty sure.

I am not exactly sure what you can do unless the package had insurance on it?  It's not really the sellers fault if she packed with care and would really have no control over customs inspecting it.  Was there a note or anything from customs in the box?

Oh no! :yikes: MM was the one I bought my Venny Cherries from, and he definitely is a great seller, I hate to hear that customs messed with another of his sales. Did he take 'before' pics of how he packed it? In my case he did, so I would ask him (since you might be able to use those if you complain to the post office, along with some sort of proof of how much the pony is worth).

OH NO!! So sorry to hear about your poor venny, PonyLady is right I recall a thread where customs and opened a MIB blue Cotton Candy and sent her to the buyer with a crushed box but no head!!

I really hope you can make a claim against the postal service because its just not on :enraged:

I also remember those threads, (and the head from that Cotton Candy did appear to be in the box).

I got "before" pictures of everything packed and how he put in in the box.I have no idea how and where I have to "complain" about this.

Here are the previous threads dealing with them and customs:

http://mlparena.com/mlp/index.php/topic,289123.0.html

I will have to go back and read through them but maybe there is some info in one of them on how you should proceed.

I guess in Venezuela they just take everything apart to check on drugs or something....? Sorry to see they keep opening up everything. :(

Unfortunately I don't think there's anything that you can do about this. :( The same thing has happened to multiple people in different countries, so it seems to be happening with Venezuelan customs, not customs of the country the buyer is in. As unfortunate as it is, this is just a risk that anyone takes buying from Venezuela.

*sigh*  I'm so sorry to hear about another customs disaster   It seems to happen so often with parcels from Venezuela, and I think there isnt much you can do unless its insured?.. but even then I'm not sure when it comes to customs opening it.. :(
Thankfully it doesnt always happen - I bought a venezuelan pony from an awesome seller there, and yes customs did still open up my parcel but thankfully they put everything back as it should be and there was no damage..  guess I was one of the fortunate ones
