Monster High Doll Totals
« on: November 07, 2012, 09:46:19 PM »
Because I'm a geek I added up all the dolls that have been released so far, and all the ones coming up. I called all the upcoming lines Scaris for ease, then added the totals at the end.

Super interesting! I love stats and things

I'm not surprised to see Lala leading the way, but I'm glad to see Clawdeen tied with Frankie just behind her. And there really aren't too many more Ghoulias than Lagoonas... definitely surprised at that!

I was surprised to see that Clawdeen and Spectra have so many dolls being released so soon.

I have seen other people's tallies. It is somewhat annoying that Draculaura has the most. I guess she's the most popular because she's the most stereotypically girly, what with all the pigtails and the pink dresses and all that. That's what I've heard anyway (that she's the most popular with the kids).

The disappointing thing about the Spectra releases is that, apart from her DDG doll, they all look pretty much the same (outfits notwithstanding). Clawdeen, on the other hand, has had some pretty radically different looks.

Wow, you sure went through a lot to chart them, thankies for that! Needs more Lagoona and I'm sure as hell sure we all want more Toralei. XD Ghoulia might need a few more releases, but not only that we just need less quantity of her too. Why so much Draculaura???

Dun wanna be a stickler, but how about replacing Scaris with Upcoming, it kinda makes more sense to me if it was:

This is really interesting. Thanks for taking the time to compile it! (I'm sure Ghoulia was an excellent helper. :3) Draculaura is one of my favorites, so I actually kind of like how often they focus on her adorable self, but I'd be more than fine with them making fewer dolls if it meant the ones they do release could be more creative and well-thought-out. Of the five total Ulas I don't have, I'm only really looking forward to two of them, the awesomely pig-tailed new swim release (way cuter than most beach dolls!), and her amazingly lolita picture day release. Those strappy shooooes!

Um ... I don't? Normally I'd be all over red hair and green eyes, but every time I look at her in the store, I just can't help but feel like she's got this totally vapid expression on her face and I find it very off-putting.

As much as I love Spectra, I've decided to pass up on all her upcoming releases. I have signature and DDG because they look different enough, but Ghouls Alive and Fearbook Spectra look way too much like sig Spectra. The hair is the same, the makeup is more or less the same and Fearbook Spectra even has the exact same earrings as DDG Spectra. Why don't they put a different color of lipstick on her, or release her with curly or wavy hair? The other dolls have variety in their makeup at least and most have had different hairstyles between releases. It would make her actually look different. I haven't paid much attention to the super hero Spectra, but I wasn't too impressed when I saw pics of her.

Same here, I love Lala too, so I never really mind when there are more versions of her  But I agree that not all of her releases are particularly necessary. But picture day, total OMG :lovey: My new fave version of her!

I want more Toralei too. And all the Spectras. *grabby hands*

Ohhh picture day, maybe not my most favorite, but definitely one of the best. And yes, ALL the Spectras! :dribble:

I'm actually not that into Toralei, with the bright orange coloring and short hair, but I adore Catrine, and I've become pretty fond of the twins too. I'd actually like to see more releases featuring them all, and a rerelease of signature Tora so people who missed out the first time could pick her up.

Am I the only one that finds it strange that Cleo doesn't have as many releases as Clawdeen, Draculaura, Ghoulia and Frankie? She's supposed to be part of the main line too and probably more of a main character than Lagoona. Though I wouldn't mind seeing much more Lagoona. :)

I don't find it all that strange. She doesn't really look like a monster, and she has a bit of a "mean girl" vibe, so she's not as popular as some of the others. There was even speculation that she was going to get dropped from the line altogether.

I sure hope not! I'll admit I wasn't keen on her at first but after seeing all the Monster High Specials on TV around Halloween, I started to really like her character. :)

Ugh!! There are 131 dolls to collect? I count 52 in my collection so far. I have long ways to go. *sigh*
