oh come on!
« on: November 05, 2012, 05:56:49 PM »
Ordered a G3 Sparkle Snap Mib...got her in the mail today...she was sent in a bubble mailer! Now there is a big bend in the box...sigh...really?

I sent a message to the person very nicely stating that a bubble mailer is not the best way to send a mib object and to inform them of the bend. I am going to keep her....but come on!

How disappointing! It always amazes me that these sellers imagine that an MIB/MOC item will arrive safely and undamaged through the post with nothing more than a bubble envelope to protect it *eyeroll*      I'm glad that you are still able to keep the pony and I think you did the right thing contacting the seller -  I hope that they learn from their mistake in the future

I think with some people they think you are going to open it. They don't realize some people collect.

I've started shipping moc and nib toys in bubble mailers because some of these items are just so ridiculously expensive to ship. I really hope if anyone has a problem they tell me. The type of items are ones that aren't really collected. At least, I don't think so :-/

That is super disappointing elish  :(

I feel if you are buying something MIB it should arrive to you undamaged, box and all.

Hopefully your seller will take your suggestion and pack with care the next time they ship something of that nature.

The seller refunded me some money and apologized they said that no one had complained of any issues before, but they were probably going to ship in boxes from now on.

I didn't ask for any refund, but it was nice of them to do, I just wanted to let them know that some people want to keep ponies in box and that they risked angry customers by shipping in bubble mailers...

Glad they were so nice.

When I purchase new in package items online they're usually a gift for someone else, so I do want the package to be nice. If someone is selling it as a MIP item I assume they'll use measures to protect the packaging in shipping, unless they state otherwise. I won't complain unless something is quite wrong with a transaction. If I'm merely irritated, which I would be receiving a smooshed package I wasn't expecting, I don't leave feedback.

Selling new stuff (when G3 was in stores), I've had people request things be deboxed or sent in bubble mailers to save on shipping. I can see the cost savings  and see no issue with using envelopes so long as a seller states that. So as a buyer you can shop elsewhere or pay extra for boxed shipping if the items packaging staying crisp is important.  :)

Thanks for sharing, I had no idea bubblemailers/envelopes were commonly used to ship MIP items. Next time I get a MIP/MOC I'll ask before hand if boxes are used for shipping.
