I'm glad it's not really happening. Besides the price of the toys going up (Disney charges a fortune for everything) they're way too strict with their properties, meaning if they bought Hasbro, I'm betting they'd start handing out lawsuits to anyone using MLP without permission, which would include plush & custom makers and probably even anyone uploading pony related stuff to YouTube. I doubt it could have happened anyway since they have a deal with Mattel.

it could still happen. Disney has a huge amount of money, and by buying Hasbro they'd be bringing in more. And Hasbro's denial means very little - deals like that are not allowed to be spoken about until completed. There would be investigations and huge hubbubs.

So, i suppose the relief is that it won't happen tomorrow. But could still happen somewhere down the line :/

That's interesting. I suppose it might be easier to find ponies but I still don't like the idea. I'm not sure why, Disney just seems, I dunno.... I don't like them. I don't know why really, I just have a bad feeling about them. I'm pretty much the same about most massive companies though. The bigger they get, the more I dislike them. Would MLP change?

It seems to me like the image that the Disney Princesses marketing empire is portraying to little girls is VERY unlike the image that FiM portrays, and if I had a daughter, I would much prefer her roll models to be the characters on FiM, not some pretty damsel in distress princess waiting for her prince.

you're right!  the disney princesses are so flat, except for maybe Mulan <3

FiM ponies have much more character and are indeed better role models.

I don't know. For me, neither are that good of role models lol. At least from the episodes of FiM I have seen. Like the one where Rainbow Dash is making fun of ponies for reading. And how Rarity is kind of full of herself. Though I do agree that Disney would make it MUCH worse lol.

I still love both though. And I don't think the Princess's are too bad. Most of them are very friendly and caring.

Well, I think Disney would be much more interested in Mattel than Hasbro tbh. Hasbro only has the rights to producing Marvel toys. Mattel has the rights to Disney Princesses for dolls, Disney Junior for Fisher-Price toys, and plushes for technically everything Disney. So in actual fact Mattel has been making more Disney stuff than Hasbro and for a longer time. It just makes less sense to pick Hasbro than to pick Mattel.
