What to do about a non-responsive seller?
« on: October 23, 2012, 02:46:18 PM »
Hi WYP, I have a (tiny) dilemma.

About a month and a half ago, I purchased two ponies froma seller here at the Arena. Despite sending her several messages, I've got no replies since September when she said they were boxed up and ready for shipping. Today, I checked her profile and it says she hasn't logged in for about a month.

What do I do in this situation? I've sent her another message, asking her to tell me whether they've been sent or not, but if she hasn't logged in for 30+ days, I'm not sure when she'll see it. I do happen to know her username on a different site... is it appropriate for me to track her down there? I was going to ask if it's appropriate to get a mod to intervene, but that was before I realized she hasn't even logged in for so long.

I think you should try to contact her in a kind way. You gave her money, you expected ponies.

Hopefully a mod can help you out, but I must say if it's been over 30 days, you might want to make a Trader Support thread!  I do hope you can find a resolution!

If I were in your place, I would definitely check any other sites where you know her screenname. That way, you can at least see if she's been active anywhere since you last heard from her here.

If you do check up on her and find out she's been active elsewhere recently, it might be a good idea to drop her a PM on whatever site she's been active on. Be nice/civil about it, of course, but let her know who you are and that you've tried to contact her through the Arena with no luck. Maybe you'll get some results. ^_^

Good luck!

Hi Pickenprod!  I am sorry to hear that you are having issues.  :(

Have you tried emailing the addy on the Paypal account that you sent payment? If not I would try that.  I would also try what Gryffon has suggested especially since you do know her username elsewhere.  I don't find any harm in that considering she has your money and your ponies.

Just a quick question though "How was payment sent through Paypal?" If it was not sent as a gift you do have the option to open a case before your 45 day deadline to try and recoup your funds.

Also if you would like to PM with their username, I can try and further look into it.

This seems like a good idea, might draw some attention to the seller and maybe people who've been in contact with her can help you out to get in contact with her too :)
I hope you are able to speak to her soon!
