Do any G4 ponies have "fading pink" hair?
« on: October 16, 2012, 07:50:24 AM »
I know that some shades of pink are very prone to fading out (even all the way to white). Lickety Split, Minty, etc.

Do any G4s have this hair color?  I've been worried about my Dewdrop Dazzle and kept her out of sunlight, but I wasn't sure if her hair was actually the "fading pink" color.

there is a variation of Fluttershy with fading pink hair. And I bet Dewdrop Dazzle could have it too *thinks* hm. Any other thoughts?

Has anyone's G4 ponies faded out at all?  Are there any "white" Fluttershys, Dewdrops, etc? :)

I think Sweetsong has it. And the lighter part of Cheerilee's and Diamond Rose's mane.

Quite possibly:
Cheerilee
Daisy Dreams
Dewdrop Dazzle
Fluttershy (certain variations)
Sweetsong

These are just guesses based on looking at pictures from StrawberryReef; if I had the ponies in front of me, I'd be able to give you a better answer.  Sadly, my collection is a couple hours away... :(

Actually...I compared some of my G4 ponies with a hank of DollyHairs Pussycat and it dont quite match, they are very close but not quite a match. I dont think my hank is faded yet since its stored in complete darkness.

I don't think Dewdrop Dazzle's mane is the fading kind, it looks too "bubblegum pink" for that.  Maybe someone who intends to customize one can experiment?

I am pretty sure a bunch of Fluttershy's have it, though.

I think the color is too bright to match, I compared fluttershy to my unfaded baby DNW cuddles.

Does it only fade in direct sunlight or is it a natural color degradation?

I'd like to know as well.
I don't have any experience with 'fading pink' but the one I worry about is Daisy Dreams' pink. It's so pale already.
I guess it's just best to try to keep my ponies out of the sun as much as possible anyway.

I had Dewdrop out at the window for a month, didn't fade one bit. I was so disappointed. I thought I could make a quick SUnbeam custom out of that without going through the trouble of rerooting the hair. Ah well. It looks like the fading pink, but I guess this time, it is made more resistant to fading.

Only time can tell.

I set out an extra sweetie belle, dewdrop dazzle, and Plumsweet in the window for about a month- in Texas summer I can normally fade out pink in 3-7days. But I found no change in there pink, so I believe these ones are safe :)
