So I had the lovely amy for my final swap (and last ever custom), and her list of interests and likes were varied, and I had lots of fun ideas, and I decided to focus on a peacock theme, and decided that I would focus my colours around a beautiful pastel blue.
As this is my last custom.. I wanted to go all out.. .
So like always.. I was really excited, and got to work right away, finishing my head pretty much the same day I had recieved the list. Her eyelashes are sculpted with to add depth, along with her horn, and mask. I was conflicted on how to paint the eyes.. and I thought.. hang on.. why not make them like peacock eyes, so they are made to look like peacock eyes, and highlighted with gold....
And then the dress.. I was so conflicted..
I know how beautiful sculpted dresses can be.. and I wanted to make something fabulous.. but to me.. fabric is far superior.. it is just getting it to behave.. so after weeks of putting it off, I hit the sewing machine and went for it..
I originally wanted the dress to be removeable, and I had planned on sculpting some details on and around the body.. however to get the sleek tight corest looking I wanted it just wasn't possible, snaps/velcro, or eyelets would have just made a bulky bumpy mess.. so I ended up stitching all the lace on the material, and then stitched it together skin tight against the pony.. talk about needle wholes in your hands!
Anyway her dress was based off an Elizabethan venetian ball-gown, it is corseted, has high ornate collar, and lots of rhinestones.. oh and did I mention the lace is peacock eyes for the peacock theme!
So without further adue.. I introduce to you:
