I got my first G1 pony ever today...

As a collector who grew up in the 90s , I was in the G2 era. And due to my small apartment, I decided when I first started to collect, to only collect G4s and G2s due to their sizes and they are my prefered Gens.

But today, I got my first G1 pony ever. A classmate of mine said that her sister had a Pony, and that I probably could get it if I wanted. She knows I also do customs, so when she handled me the pony today she said; "Do whatever you want with it!"

The pony is the UK Romance Pony; Love Token. Her Mane and Tail is really frizzy, no conditioner will make it fully soft again, but her symbols and eyes are perfect. I know I won't have the heart to customize her because she is such a sweet pony really. But I am thinking of rehairing her due to the frizzy hair.

Do you think I should rehair her?

Edit: since requested here comes pictures. Now I didn't know about the Flatiron + conditioner method, and I definitely think that will work. Her hair is by no means as frizzy as the hair on that pony in the tutorial

Personally I would give a flat iron and a conditioner soak a good try before you re-hair her - unless the hair has already burned or been chemically damaged you should manage to get her back to reasonable condition.

Do you perhaps have pictures? You ll get some great advise from people on how they tamed hair but pics always help to point out a ponies condition.

Ah, Love Token!!  What a great first G1 to add to your collection.  I am still looking for her myself, and I have a ton of G1s.

I second hathorcat's suggestion to try taming the frizz before resorting to a rehair, but that's easy for me to say.  I have tried multiple times to repair a pony's hair using the conditioner and flat iron technique, and still no luck for me.

OMG yes use a flat iron! soak hair with water and conditioner, comb thru then run flat iron through on low heat. keep adding water and conditioner and run it thru like 3 or 4 times.
if youre nervous about it, try it on a g3 who is a tru bait
ive had a ton of great turn outs with my argie ponies ^_^

But congrats on the G1 amenoo, she is one of the first G1s I found thrifting (someone was selling her on the street in my hometown) and mine is in a rough shape as well. She has a weird haircut (kinda emo ) and her custom name written on her bum, but I actually really like her that way ^^ she was a well loved pony

She's lovely! In comparison to a lot of ponies, she really doesn't have frizzy hair at all  I am also joining those who would like a Love Token, she was a childhood pony I haven't yet recaptured.

Oh wow... yeah, that doesn't come anywhere close to frizzy hair.  Glad you posted pics, she's absolutely amazing!
