An Odd Favor to Ask (Updated 10/19)

So I worked on a new project this weekend, my own hair match book!  I often use up all of a hair color without saving any trace of it, so when it comes time to pick colors I have no reference of it!  I am also working on hair matches for G3 ponies (a project that will probably never end!)

So here is what I have:

The little loops of hair are only about 1/2" in diameter to keep it measureable.  I used posterboard and an entire Sunday   I will probably brace it with foamboard on back if I ever complete it.  I want all the Dollyhair colors, and I'm adding the other hair suppliers as I come across them.

I am done with the colors I own!  So, if anyone has any clippings (even 5 full length strands in enough to work into a loop!) that they would otherwise discard, I would truly appreciate it if you would sell them to me   Anything 4" or longer would be great! I really can only pay a tiny bit above shipping, I would think a standard letter envelope would work?? 

I could also offer a free bait pony in trade for...10 samples?

For swatches, please include at least 4" in length by 1/2" in thickness.  For longer hair I can double it up, so less would be needed.  I really appreciate your help and will be happy to send you any swatches you need that I have!  A quick zip tie or twist tie on the hair would be greatly appreciated!

Found Pomme as well.  Also Copper Chocolate.  I also got grab bags with my last order.  I have a deep purple/red and a really dark blue.  Unlabeled.    Can I send you a touch of each to see if we can name them conclusively?  There has been some debate about these two.

Also, one of the reasons I have not done this myself yet is space. Do you guys think maybe something like a Rolodex could be use for this? Maybe if the hair was taped down well to the cards?

i was thinking of putting the samples in tiny ziplock bags, like for sorting beads. and maybe in a big binder like they have you go thru when you get your hair dyed?

Great questions!  For multilpe colors, a quick zip tie or something similar would be great!  I would think a little bigger mailing envelope would be fairly safe for hair.

The rolodex could work well.  I would think if the hair samples are fairly small (to prevent a lot of top weight on the card).  I would love to see it when you complete it!
