Because this is how kids write.  I have short stories I wrote in 2nd and 3rd grade for our journals and they all have this crazy nonsensical madness with a quick and easy ending.   So it all makes perfect sense if you are a kid.

I find they make a sort of sense, the same way an Escher painting makes a sort of sense while simultaneously making no sense at all.

Here is a Thanksgiving story, okay not strictly Thanksgiving but at least "harvest time feast", which is where Thanksgiving had its roots.

Is it bad that I think they are mistreating a musical instrument?

Also, Bo Peep looks like a creepy gnome.  Little Boy Blue is missing his footwear.  Who is the rainbow gnome guy?  No introductions?  When are we made aware that Haw is injured?

Eyrie is a "big word" for kids.  And adults for that matter.  I had to look it up.
