Rehairing Beachcomber - hair colour advice needed
« on: October 07, 2012, 02:33:10 PM »
I am planning to rehair my Beachcomber (the rasta girl, if someone remembers her :P I have been planning to rehair her for awhile but never actually got there...) and I would like to get her new hair from Dollyhair, but I realised I don't know what her exact hair colour is... I don't think doing a comparison to my other blue-haired girls would work, as I doubt her more-than-worn hair still has its original colour. could someone please help me in identifying the colour I should use?

many thanks in advance!

If you go to the dollyhair website and then search for beachcomber you should find the correct hair colour. However, I just tried that for you & it didn't work. So you can also go here: https://sites.google.com/site/mlphaircolorguide/home which suggests that the colour you're looking for is Atomic Turquoise :)

I tried searching for Beachcomber on Dollyhair using the "Find" option in Firefox, but she's not listed :/
many thanks for this site, I didn't know it - bookmarked now ^^ thank you for the colour search too, now I know what to order (and next time I won't have to make such a thread either :) ).
thank you for your useful answer!

No probs at all! It's frustrating when searches on silly hair don't work but that site is super-helpful when they don't.

actually I just went on Dollyhair and read the description of Atomic T and what they write about Water Nixie (together with your link listing Beachcomber's hair in green, so a non-confirmed match) started to bug me...

is there anyone who has a Beachcomber and could confirm Atomic over Nixie?
as much as I love variety in colours, well, when it comes to such decisions I don't love them so much XD

Do you have any of the ponies that are listed as having those 2 hair colours? If so, compare her to those ponies ;) I'd check for you, but I'm not at home at the moment :(

Beachcombers hair is not green - its a dark aqua but more in the blue region - its a match for Tootsie or Firefly - so you do indeed want Atomic Turquoise as the closest match.
Thank you Matcha for my gorgeous Baby Fifi avi

I do have Bubbles who is supposed to be Atomic Turquoise and Majesty who is Water Nixie, but to be honest, I don't see much difference between their hair colours  the only sure thing is that none of them looks like what is left of Beachcomber's hair, hers is much lighter, but I suppose it's only faded.

yeah, it's definitely blue - I was referring to that the site Enolaalone gave me a link to lists ponies who aren't confirmed matches in green (using green text), not to her hair colour :P
now I checked and compared Tootsie's hair too (I sadly don't have Firefly yet), and her hair is a bit lighter, hence a bit closer to Beachcomber's, so that should be it :woot:

many thanks for your help!
