Need help on ebay purchase (non pony)

I won this auction on September:

I received the fabric quickly and left positive feedback. Today (a week after I got it) I was measuring it out and realize it's only 2 yards and 20 inches, not 5 yards as stated. I know I should have measured it before and honestly wouldn't have cared much if it had been like 1/2 yard short but I'm missing almost half of what I paid for!

I keep waffling on what I should do. I would like a partial refund as I'm missing half my purchase but then again the fabric is def. a wool fabric and with free shipping I still got a really good deal. Plus it was my fault for not measuring it when I first got it. Then again I'm missing half of what I thought I was getting

Should I ask for a partial refund or should I just suck it up?

Dragonlady - She looks like an honest seller being top rated and all. Why don't you message them and let them know. I wouldn't ask for anything up front. Let them offer you something. You will most likely make out better that way as they may have an appropriate way to fix the mistake.

I did the same thing a few months ago. I bought an item and left positive feedback before I even looked at it. Then I looked at it and it was the wrong item! I told the seller what happened and she sent me the correct one completely hassle free.

Sometimes you accidentally leave feedback. It happens. I'm sure they'll fix it.

No worries, I think it has happened to all of us at some point.

But I would politely email them ASAP and state your concerns.  Because for her to retain her Top-Rated status she has to offer a 14 day return policy. And you are a day away.
I am sure she will work with you.  It could have just been an honest mistake in length as she states it's from a sale.

I agree with sending your seller a polite message about what happened.  They have good ratings/feedback etc so I would think its an honest mistake and that they will be happy to work with you and resolve the situation

Thanks everyone:) The seller was wonderfully understanding and got right back to me literally 10 minutes after I messaged, lol. After apologizing for the mistake she offered me a partial refund or I could return the fabric for a full refund. I opted for the former as I can still use the fabric.

I feel silly now worrying as she was so pleasant; she's definitely a model ebay seller!

That's great news! I wouldn't feel silly, usually if the seller is Top Rated there is nothing to worry about.  I am not saying that there are not one's that are unpleasant but usually they didn't get to that rating for being jerks. 

Anyways it is beautiful fabric so I would have opted for the partial too. Hope your going to make something beautiful with it.
