Oh my gosh, you guys all make me want to cry!!! I was nervous about posting what I will be doing b/c I know how controversial the idea of hunting can be! Thank you ALL for the support!!!!

Congrats!  I have a friend whose husband hunts (and they use all the meat too), and he's had seasons where he hasn't caught a single thing.  Not my cup of tea, but that's because I can't take the sight of blood. 

On a side not, this same friend and her spouse and I were up in Seattle last summer visiting a mutual friend.  Our mutual friend lives in a somewhat rural area.  One of the husband's goals was to see some deer on the trip.  Not to hunt it, but just to see deer.  Well, we were out driving to one of the local falls, and on the way back I randomly spotted some deer on the side of the road, grazing.  But it was my friend's husband who was driving the car, so he missed it.  And that was the only deer spotting the entire trip, lol.

Major congrats and I don't disagree with hunting in any shape or form. My dad is a fanatic on deer hunting so I was raised around it. Yeah, he goes after trophy whitetail bucks, but he also enthusiasticly eats the meat and shares it with friends and family. So it's not all for the trophy aspect. He adores deer meat.

As for me, it's too gamey. But I do like deer summer sausage. It's pretty yummy.
