Bunny Hop restore - update!
« on: September 22, 2012, 09:07:11 AM »
Ages ago (I think three months maybe) I got a lot of ponies from Etsy who were in need of a bit of help. One of them was Bunny Hop. Originally she looked like this:

She's not completely fixed up yet, but I repinked her hair, gave her a big clean and fixed her hair, and she's been sat in the window for the last 3 months. I didn't think she was improving, but since looking back at the before pictures I can see she has been! It's a slow process though.

I added this one of her feet too, although there's no original shot of her feet they were also covered in highlighter and some kind of random blue pen.

I still need to take her head off and get her tail out so I can sort out the rust and remove the washer, but getting ponies heads off is becoming the bane of my pony existence right now!

What is it with little kids, ponies, and pink highlighters?  Oh well... more fun for us restorers. :P

Wishlist - I'm back on (semi-) active buying again... can't buy everything on my wish list all at once (yay, back-to-school and tuition fees), but I am still looking to plump up my collection a bit more: http://mlparena.com/index.php/topic,380638.0.html

Thank you :)

I have no idea! Its frustrating, because it's one of the few things that just won't shift with ordinary cleaning, magic erasers etc. I just need more sunshine! :brr:

She's looking so good! It'll be awesome to look back and see exactly how much she's changed once you are finally finished.

Get out your tea kettle to get that head off. If you've never tried that method before, it does take quite a bit of boiling water... and a flat head screwdriver...
She is looking better.
If sunfading isn't working that great in your neck of the woods I believe there are some members here closer to the equator that do offer their windows for sunfading...

I have no idea  All three ponies looked like they'd been pulled through a hedge backwards hair-wise, and Moondancer was covered in white paint  It was like some sort of horror film when I got them.

Thanks, I have tried that method just recently actually, with a G1 Secre Surprise pony. It does help get the head off, I'm just a bit exhausted from that pony at the moment! Their heads are really securely attached!

That would be helpful actually, especially for the winter. I might send her on a holiday for the winter. It depends whether I can rig up a UV box and how well that works.
