I like how the boxes direct your attention to the circle of five jewels.  Could that hint to a new "five artifacts of power" story arc for the TV show?

Nope, there are six elements of harmony. Those are just crystals you can clip to those holes in their accessories and capes. I guess they have something to do with the whole crystal empire -thing.

The accessories in these are cute! That bathtub! I won't buy doubles of all these ponies just for the accessories though... but now we know about how Twilight and Cadance that were seen on taobao in the plastic dresses are released!
