Eyes on Blind Bags, any tips?
« on: September 21, 2012, 12:23:13 AM »
On the previous blind bag customs I made, I did not completely repaint the eyes. I only painted over the colored part with a different color. But these 2 that I'm working on now required a full-body repaint and so I have to completely redo the eyes. I didn't think this would be a problem, until I started working on the eyes! Without molded eyes like brushable ponies have, I'm having a terrible time trying to get both eyes evenly spaced and the same size. I can make 2 beautiful eyes, but then they don't match! Help!

Some possibilities, some more effective that others...
make a stamp.
cut your eye shape out of a piece of paper and then hold it up and just mark around the edges of the eyes.
draw the design in chalk or something else that will just wipe away.
outline it with electrical tape (careful not to pull up your fbr though).
measure the eye you want and make each one a certain size like half centimeter across one centimeter tall.
Use a qtip to make the white dot for the eye then go back and paint the liner and iris and stuff with that as your base.
Seal your repaint so that you can remove just the eye if you need to.

*thinks*
I'm not really on here anymore. Email me if you need my for something.

blind bags, at least the ones I've done, do have slgiht eye indents. It's usually only along the front corner of the eye and then it flattens out, but it should be enough to at least get the position right.
