Yes, Ponyville started in G3.  According to the G3 annuals and comics, G3 Ponyville is in Ponyland.

G1 and G2 had Ponyland, G3, G3.5, and G4 have Ponyville. There were also other areas like Dream Valley, the Black Mountains (G1), Pony Village (in G2), Unicornia, Butterfly Island(G3), and others.

If i'm not mistaken, the G2 world was also sometimes called "Friendship Gardens". I think in the USA?

Friendship Gardens was the PC game =3 In-game it referred to the village as Pony Village, with the overall area being Ponyland.

G2 was in Friendship Gardens according to most merchandise.  In the UK comics, Friendship Gardens was in Pony Land / Ponyland.

No, it's that Britt McKillip voiced Spike and Brian Drummond voiced Tiddlywink Britt voiced Tra-La-La and Brian voiced Spike.

Oh hey, I didn't know G2 ponies lived in "Ponyland" outside of the US. I thought it was just Friendship Gardens.

G3 really had a lot of nice background artwork. That one above with all the flowers all over the forest is enchanting!
