What's the difference between the two Cupid dolls?

I've seen a lot of both versions but to me, they just look the same. Other than the box, what they come with, and price, what makes these two dolls different (if anything at all)? Could someone maybe post pictures of the two?

mostly its the hair
first Cupid is the re-release, the second is the 1600 version

according to the comparison i found their hair is rooted differently, and the hair band is positioned different (1600 has it in front of her hair, at the front of the ears, like a head band)
and it looks like the re-release hair doesn't have as much factory curl
the wings on the re-release have more gold in them

I've been wondering exactly this thing- glad someone asked!  I thought they might have changed the face mold to give her her own unique face mold but it doesn't really look like it.

my original cupid is from BEFORE the signature one was released so she's a bit different fromt he NEW 1600 cupid being found i guess ... *shrugs* who knows anymore lol

Wow, now that I've seen them up close and side by side, I definately think the original Cupid is my favorite. I just like her hair more. It seems like Mattell was more careful when making her. Also, I didn't realize that the newer Cupid has more black on her legs and arms. Thank you all so much for sharing your pictures and helping me see the difference

I took a set of pics; I'll link them here..I also found some differences in their wings and in the airbrushing of their limbs..explained in the set.  I didn't like the shellacked 'do on the 1600 issue so I straightened her hair.  Also the first release is called 1600 and was a Walmart exclusive while the new rerelease has her diary and a different style box.  No heart cutaway like the 1600 line.  It's the same as the other basic dolls. Plus the new Cupid has the sturdier jointing, no elastic in the legs.  Hope that helps.

Here you can see the difference in the wings.  Rerelease has thicker 'bones' in the wings and they're sprayed with more gold.

You can see slight differences in the face paint.  Rerelease on left, 1600 on right

Here you can see the differences in the airbrushing on legs.  New version on left are black with white airbrushed on while the 1600 is the opposite; white with black airbrushed.  Not sure why they did this, maybe the felt the older version scratched more..IDK. You can even see differences in the color because of this.  Hope all these help..

Ooo thanks for all of the comparison pics everyone, I love seeing differences between different releases of dolls. I'm definately happy I got the 1600 doll vs. the new version.

oh man ;A; now this is even MORE confusing! I just got my cupid yesterday, and she has the headband to the front of her head...but if she's out in stores now, you'd think she was the rerelease?

same thing happened with my abbey :/  she was in stores now, but her leg warmers cover her shoes...

If you want to tell by whats in the box its rather easy, the 1600 cupid came with a picture instead of a diary.

My wally world never got the original doll, but I'm finding the re-release now.

feb1600 release, the "all store" release, and this new sudden influx of 1600? from what i saw, this newer one looks more like the all store release ... i didn't get one cause i already have two lol

Wait so it wasn't just my walmart that suddenly had the dolls? I thought maybe they just hadn't put them out during V-day since they never showed up here.
