look, look what I got
« on: September 15, 2012, 01:33:46 PM »
About a week ago I got this argie heart throb from ebay. On the auction se looked terrible, I tought I wouldn't be able to save any of her, hair looked really really dry, she had what it seemed to be pen marks here and there and chew marks in one leg.
But then when I washed her, I was able to remove what seemed to be gum from her hair, most of the marks came off with nail polish remover and her symbols turned to be the best heart throb symbols that I've ever seen on an argie
The only real shame is that I think I can't do anything about those chew marks on her legs, I don't know any sculptor in argentina so I guess I'll have to accept her little defect
Anyway she's such a cutie!
Ps: does any of you had success on solving the chew marks problem? any advice?

She looks great! The chew marks aren't so bad, really, in comparison to the rest of the pony's niceness.

I've managed to fix Dancing Butterflies' chewed ear pretty nicely without any clay or sculpting material. However, I don't own any argies myself, so I'm not sure if their plastic reacts similary, and I can't quarantee this works in every case in regular ponies either.

I let the chewed part soak in very hot water for a while and then cool. The ear returned quite closely to its original shape, but still retained some bite marks. I carefully rubbed the plastic with very fine sand paper to smooth out those. You can still see some mark if you look closely, but the ear looks almost normal on display now.
