Oooh, Sports-Time with blue eyes? How sweet! This color suits her better than the one on actual toy... too bad it's only a prototype... which makes me wonder: what did happen to all the prototypes that took part of the photo shoot/commercials? Were they given away to worker's kids (for example, I once read somewhere that the first batch of SS ponies was given away to the girls who were in the commercial featuring those ponies), or were they kept at Hasbro's offices as part of their collection of prototypes? Huh...

Also is that baby Schoolbag... a First Tooth Pony? In Baby Tic Tac Toe's pose?? Whoa... O_O

Most were probably recycled...a couple of "probable" prototypes of the School time ponies have shown up in the past as well as a Starlight Baby.

More often than not prototypes like this are stored for a very short period and then destroyed - mainly so there is no risk of competitors actually getting a hold of them plus often for FMCG products companies dont think the items will have any interest or value in the future and churn through so many items that there is little point in them being stored. The fact that we as a collecting community seem to know more about G1 MLP than Hasbro is an indication of their lack of information retention!

Yeah, me too ^^! The ad says
"A lot of new things are happening in pony land
When? Currently, from now on!
Where? Of course everwhere where you can get good toys!
How? New, funny and colourful like never before!"

It's always so great to see the old adverts look at the colours though.....it's like someone was crazy happy with the contrast button ( obviously there wasn't the tech to do that back then )
